Michael Beers

Coach Beers is a graduate of Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kansas, and has a bachelor’s degree from Kansas University. A high school varsity athlete in football, basketball, tennis, and baseball, he took up running his junior year in college and has been passionate about the sport ever since. He competes in multiple 5k, 4 mile, 10k, and half-marathon races every year, and is an avid cyclist and weight-lifting advocate. This will be his first official coaching position and he is tremendously excited for the opportunity. His expertise is running form and he is hopeful he can help all the student athletes on the cross-country team to run stronger, faster, and more efficiently, and with less chance for injury than they ever have before.

Coach Beers lives on the Plaza in Kansas City. He is the leader of a popular event band in the area called the Michael Beers Band and is presently writing a novel about running. He loves to travel and socialize with friends and looks forward to getting to know each and every team member and their families.
